LEVEL 22

Inspired by Scrooge and Total Recall, I created this short film idea for a class project about a man traveling through time each moment he enters and exits the elevator in his office.

A Horror story that deals with infidelity, the story centers on a young American executive Jacob 40s, who has an affair with a young model he met during a business trip. Little did he know that she is a mythical creature that disguises herself with the skin of a beautiful woman to bait cheating men and consumes their heart. Skin is based on a Chinese Folklore that has been told through generations.

Friday Night Zombies

Kevin, a lonely 40-year-old executive lives his life carelessly. Without friends and families, he spent most of his weekends getting drunk and partying alone. Friday comes and it’s time to party! Little does Kevin know that this Friday, there is a zombie outbreak. Can Kevin differentiate a zombie from a drunk before it’s too late?

Kung-Kung

A story that I hear every Christmas ever since I was around 12 years old told by my grandfather himself. Every Christmas, he would gather all his grandchildren as we sat around him listening to his story. He would tell us about how lucky we are that we grew up with a loving family. He told us that he was sold in a market in China when he was around 7 years old and that he has no recollection of who his biological parents were. He told us about how he was the last one to be sold because he was the ugliest child with a buck tooth. Every morning, the children would be carried in a rickshaw by the merchant to be sold in the market. As I always imagine his hardship during his childhood, I always wondered how he ended up successful here in Indonesia with a big family and lots of friends that respected him. I would often ask about his stories to other relatives about his success and they would tell me about how generous and helpful my grandfather was to his friends and even the people who hurt him. More than a year ago my grandfather passed away at the age of 100. During that moment, I was reminded of my goal to tell his story, to share his amazing journey through life with everyone in the world. I hope that this is that opportunity. I hope I get to share his life story.

STEP 6 - Assignment #3: The Character Pitch

This assignment was significant to me due to the personal connection the story has with my own personal life at that particular time. This story is also inspired by a relative of mine. What I learned from this assignment is the idea of embodying myself in the character and try to imagine going though the character's life.

Homeless

An ancient deity/God reincarnated as a homeless person who uses his/her powers to help the people around him/her and gets in trouble with other deity/God for using his/her powers. This ancient deity/God is breaking the rules by using his/her powers in helping others when the rules for a deity/God is to not interfere supernaturally with the lives of mortals. The series will introduce other deity/God that have different powers and exists throughout the ages as different deity/God throughout different cultures.
